Marvel has resized the 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania' trailer for ants

Marvel released the official teaser trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania today, giving us a look at Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly)'s next adventure through the Quantum Realm. It will be a family trip too, with Scott's daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton) and Hope's parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) coming along as well.

However, this trailer was obviously targeted at humans. As such, Marvel have swiftly followed it up with an altered version targeted toward a less commonly served demographic: Ants.

Film studios will often re-edit and release multiple different trailers for the same film, targeting the videos toward different audiences. Usually the distinction is drawn by country, with the language and shots used in a Chinese trailer differing to one targeted at the U.S., for example.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's new trailer for ants doesn't make any such changes to its content. Instead, it simply shrinks the human trailer to a miniscule size more appropriate for tiny insect eyes. Quite a bit is lost in the image quality, but this is probably an instance where it's the thought that counts.

This isn't the first time Marvel has pulled this gag. In 2015 it released an ant-sized teaser for the first Ant-Man film, as well as erecting ant-sized billboards across Australia. I'm not sure how much the ant population contributes to box office results, but it's nice that they're getting some acknowledgement.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania arrives in theatres Feb. 17, 2023.
